Group Awards involve a number of Sections working together, for example, a local Scout Network working with a Scout Troop, or an Explorer Scout Unit working with a Local Scout Network. The Awards are:
The Group Awards are designed so that all members of the Scout Group can take part in the Award, both adults and young people. Explorer Scouts and members of the Scout Network can link with the Scout Groups to achieve a Group Award. There is freedom for the Group to choose it's own project, and there is a wide scope for innovative projects.
Each Group Award centres on a long-term project, which the Group works on over a period of at least three to six months. The Group leadership team outlines the project and the involvement that each Section will have in it, and will set a start date and a completion date. The Group should develop an action plan, carry it out and evaluate it.
