In Brief

'The best kept secret in Scouting'... well it used to be!

The Explorer Belt is the challenge of a lifetime, and now it's back as part of the new programme, re-worked and revitalised, but still the challenge it always was.

There's far too much information about Explorer Belts to write it all here, but in brief here's what the Explorer Belt entails.

It is available to all Explorer Scouts and members of Scout Network over that age of 16. It is a chance to undertake an international expedition over ten days that brings a real understanding of a different country, its people and its way of life.

The Explorer Belt is often described as 'the antidote to the package holiday'. It is designed to help young people develop a real understanding of another country by travelling through that country, working as a small team to complete surprise projects, and meeting local people.
