Explorer Belt Presentation 2007

By Smiler

Thursday 1st November night saw the West Lancashire Scouts Explorer Belt 2007 participants presented with their awards at a fantastic final presentation evening. The teams comprising of 3 to 5 people aged between 16 and 25 completed 100 miles walks across Holland over 10 days in August with 10 minor projects (including milk a cow and make cheese) and a major project.

Charlie Watikinson (Chair of West Lancashire Scout Network) gave an emotional speech about her experience regarding her major project on the holocaust. There was also a fantastic slide show from Martin Wells and a good speech from Michelle Taylor was also given regarding the bonding of the teams.

Smiler represented Ormskirk Network as a leader on the expedition and is very happy with how the 18 month long project has undergone. Congratulations to Kingy and Martyn Barber (future Ormskirk Network members) for achieving their awards and all the other participants.
